“Death of a Unicorn” Is Wonderfully Weird.

Jenna Ortega leads an incredible ensemble through this Horror/Comedy.

There is something to be said about small indie films that can give you the right amount of social commentary and our meaning in the universe. Add Unicorns, some odd laughs and gore, you got A24’s “Death of a Unicorn.” Starring Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd, “Unicorn” is the ultimate middle finger to human greed while diving into the divine of the frightening unknown via Unicorns! Think punk rock’s take on “Jurassic Park.”

Leopold family, played with an over the top realism by Richard E. Grant, Tea Leoni and Will Poulter, typify all that is wrong with humanity, -The Latino Slant

The greedy, super wealthy Leopold family, played with an over the top realism by Richard E. Grant, Tea Leoni and Will Poulter, typify all that is wrong with humanity, cutthroat while smiling the whole time. Paul Rudd is literally the hired hand, would be partner, trying to create a stable life for him and his daughter, the pimpled-face awkward Jenna Ortega. Jenna’s character is our connection between our humanity and the divine that the Unicorns give her insight into. What an odd yet heartfelt take “Unicorn,” is into our own state.
