Linda Ronstadt Movie gets HOLLYWOOD Green light! Selena Gomez to Star!
The upcoming Linda Ronstadt biopic has officially been acquired for distribution by Miramax as of March 7, 2026. Selena Gomez remains attached to star as the legendary singer.

Development Phase: Film development and script meetings are scheduled to continue throughout 2026. - Director & Producers: David O. Russell is set to direct the feature. The project is being produced by James Keach (producer of Walk the Line) and Ronstadt’s longtime manager, John Boylan.
- Research: Selena Gomez has recently been spending time at Linda Ronstadt’s home to discuss the project and research the role.
- Musical Approach: Gomez is expected to dub Ronstadt’s original vocals for the film, a method previously used in biopics like Selena and Bohemian Rhapsody.
