To break down the highs, the lows, and the pure cinematic magic of the last six months, Latino Slant host Paulie sat down with powerhouse film critics Rosa Parra and Cyn’s Corner.
After some intense debate, a bit of Spanglish disruptions, and plenty of coffee, they each narrowed down their definitive individual Top 5 Movies of 2026 So Far.
Rosa Parra’s Top Five
- 1. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple: Nia DaCosta delivers an incredibly promising entry into the franchise, presenting a raw, atmospheric, and terrifying anchor at the very start of the year that set the bar high for everything that followed.
- 2. The Invite: Driven by a rock-solid cast with fantastic chemistry and snappy direction from Olivia Wilde, this dinner party breakdown is a rollercoaster of cringe comedy, sharp satire, and genuine gut-busters.

Cyn’s Corner’s Top Five
